Tomato Garden

Well, we have to start growing our own food to save a little money, so my husband built me a cute little tomato garden. It has to be fenced in because the deer and rabbits would munch it in a heartbeat. It's my daughter's job to weed it and my son's job to water it. We also put some sunflowers in it.

What a great idea! I want to plant some things, too, but, we're out in the country in Texas and I've lost plants to critters in the past. Between the fire ants, grasshoppers and all, it's kind of discouraging. I had some large Hibiscus plants by my steps, for years. One morning, I went out and there was not a sign that there had ever been a plant there. I wondered if a deer or something might have eaten them during the night. I'm planning to start some plants in flower pots in the house. But, then, I have to figure out what to do with them from there!
Lucky you, to have a husband who can build such nice things for you! I'm not that handy, and don't have anyone at home who is. I have lots of room for a garden, but working it is another problem.

I hope you'll post more pictures as they grow! I think it's fantastic that you have the tomato garden. I grow some cherry tomatoes in my apartment, but I wish i could grow full-sized fruits and veggies!

I can't wait to see how this works out for you!
